James, yours is good advice and well taken.
S, I have not done much reading on either of the topics you mentioned, looks like its time for a Google search.
so, according to genesis 1v1, ''in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth'' - so what i want to know is if god lives in the heavens now, where did he live before he created them?
was he just renting a place?
maybe his nan's spare room?

James, I agree trying to pigeonhole God, or anyone for that matter is an exercise in futility. But it does seem to be in our basic nature to question, don't you think? LOL, see, I just did it, couldn't help myself.
hi i made a forum on freeboards what do you guys think???.
http://www.freeboards.net/?mforum=catholicjw.
its a forum for catholics jehovah's witness and ex-jws .
Eva, wow, I am really impressed. You are pretty amazing.
think about this for a moment.. jws believe that their relentless work now will be rewarded with paradise later.. however, in an effort to get into paradise, many jws do nothing but work, and serve god.
i know my mother does.. so i wonder, what does she think she's going to do in paradise?
what is there that she likes, that will occupy her eternally??.
Hmm, everybody forever young, in perfect health, living in those communal houses pictured in the mags. I think I could get up for that.

S. thanks for the response, very interesting ideas, I'd love to hear the longer version but I get the gist of where you are going with it I think. Again thanks for the response, much appreciated, definitely food for thought.

Satanus, I'm intrigued, can you amplify your thought?
.

Just got done sanding and refinishing the wood floors on the ground floor of my house. Just getting ready to mix a batch of margaritas and fire up a Cohiba as a reward.
Answering the question asked, personally I am against abortion. I agree with the sentiment that for most the choice is to be made as to whether you are going to engage in sexual relations or not. As with many other activities in life having sex carries with it the potential for serious ramifications that you need to be ready to accept before engaging in said activity.
Any of you folks ever see what goes on inside of an abortion clinic? Or witness a partial-birth abortion (in my opinion possibly the most barbaric act carried on in civilized societies today)? Many abortions are not simply the discarding of some unwanted cells, they involve fetus' that I understand can react to pain and their mother's voice, are clearly identifiable as soon to be human beings, etc.

Greendawn, excellent post. Whenever there is God bashing of this sort I always think it odd that people use human concepts of space, time, etc. to show there is no God, or how foolish the notion is. IF there is a God of the sort many imagine why couldn't God exist outside of our concepts/understanding of space-time and so on. Its sort of like what has been pointe out on this forum, this is Simon's house, he makes the rules and he can break the rules if he sees fit, and if this is God's universe I would imagine he/she/it having the same priveleges.

Putting aside the WT bs for a moment, you all mean to tell me that you are going to be ready to punch out of this existence at 70 or 80? That you think that is all the time in the world to accomplish everything you ever wanted to do with your life. I haven't met too many elderly people that haven't wished to be young again to do it all over again. None of you has ever watched a movie more than once or gone to the same place twice for dinner etc? Yes, eternity might be a bit of a stretch, but would some of you like to have a little more time in this realm?
